Building software, and securing the networks it runs on.

Computer Science & Engineering student who moves between software development and networks/systems — from React Native apps and AI-integrated tools to intrusion detection labs and cybersecurity.

About

A bit of context

I'm a Computer Science and Engineering student specializing in Networks and Systems. Building on a strong foundation in networking, I am actively expanding my development stack to understand how the digital world operates under the hood, ultimately guiding my path into cybersecurity.

My work revolves around building detection systems, probing them with penetration testing, and making sense of the traffic that flows through a network, alongside that, I bring a versatile, hands-on background—from integrating generative AI tools into development projects and a strong background in hardware diagnostics and maintenance. I like being useful wherever a team needs me, and I learn fastest by shipping something real.

Experience

Where I've worked

Jul – Aug 2026

Summer Intern — Front-End Development

Accenture · Coimbra, Portugal · Hybrid

  • Contributed to an internal project using TypeScript and React Native, integrating web frameworks with generative AI tools.
  • Designed backend telemetry to calculate KPIs and surface real-time usage insights through custom dashboards.

Jul – Aug 2025

Summer Intern — Ophthalmic Imaging Management Solutions

BlueWorks · Coimbra, Portugal · Hybrid

  • Tested and supported FHIR-based APIs using Postman, Docker, JSON and C#, while gaining familiarity with SPMS and the National Broker.

Feb – May 2023

Hardware & Software Technician — Curricular Internship

Switch Technology · Coimbra, Portugal · On-site

  • Performed hardware and software diagnostics, maintenance, data recovery, disk cloning and custom computer assembly.

Involvement

Deeply involved in the tech community

Microsoft Azure Dev Summit

Attended to keep up with the latest in cloud, AI and developer tooling, and to connect with the wider Azure community.

JNation

Took part in one of Portugal's largest tech conferences, covering software engineering, Java and modern development practices.

Shift Happens Hackathon

Took on the challenge with a team of fellow students, building "My Menu", an application designed to make it easier for people to find and choose meals that suit their needs.

What The Health Hackathon — 2nd place

Worked with a team to design a potential solution to help astronauts prevent space anemia, earning 2nd place in the competition.

Accenture Hackathon

Built a solution around an AI math tutor, injected with domain knowledge about mathematics so it could solve a wider range of problems, explain its reasoning clearly, and walk through every step without skipping any.

Projects

Things I've built

Wazuh Lab Test

A dedicated HIDS lab environment integrating external syslog sources for centralized log collection. Built custom IPS rules and ran penetration testing with Kali Linux to evaluate detection accuracy.

Gardeneer Simulator (C++)

A turn-based, command-line garden simulator focused on biodiversity and resource management, applying inheritance, encapsulation, abstraction and polymorphism.

Taxi Manager (C)

A Linux app simulating a taxi dispatch system, built around inter-process communication with pipes, synchronization mechanisms and protection against race conditions.

Network Infrastructure Lab

A full network environment simulating communication across inside and outside infrastructure, working with VLANs, QinQ and MPLS to design segmented, carrier-style topologies.

ExataMente

A Streamlit application that solves math problems with the help of agents built on LangGraph, LangChain, SymPy and Google Gemini. It handles problems typed as plain text as well as PDF and image attachments, extracting the text from them automatically, then walks through the solution step by step and keeps a history of the session.
